In September 2025, we organised and delivered an international teacher training course in Portugal, welcoming 25 education professionals from various European countries. The programme created a dynamic space for professional exchange, practical learning and intercultural dialogue.
The course was designed to respond to current educational challenges and to support teachers in developing innovative, student-centred approaches. Throughout six days of structured training activities, participants explored ways to strengthen critical thinking in the classroom, promote responsible media use, integrate European values and democratic participation into school practice, and foster creativity and initiative among students.
Our methodology was based on active and experiential learning. Rather than traditional lectures, the course combined interactive workshops, collaborative tasks, simulations and reflective practice. Participants worked in small international groups, sharing experiences from their own educational contexts and co-creating adaptable teaching tools. The programme also included energisers, reflection sessions and informal exchange moments, ensuring both professional focus and positive group dynamics.
An important element of the course was supporting participants in transferring new knowledge into their everyday teaching practice. During the training, educators developed lesson scenarios, classroom activities and project ideas that could be directly implemented in their schools.
At the end of the programme, participants received a certificate of attendance documenting their learning outcomes and professional development.
This training course strengthened international cooperation, enhanced professional confidence and contributed to the continuous development of innovative teaching practices across participating institutions.
